What is raw food...and why eat it?

Raw food has not been heated over 40c/118F to preserve the enzyme and nutrient content of the food. Once food it heated above this temperature the enzymes are destroyed and the nutritional value decreased. The enzymes in the food are needed by our body to digest and assimilate the nutrition in the food. If the food is heated about this temperature our digestive system robs our body of our precious enzymes to carry out it's job.
We rob our bodies of fresh, beautiful food that is zinging with energy, nutrition and life when we consume cooked, acid forming, unnatural, processed, and/or animal-derived food. When increasing the amount of raw food in their diets, many many people report extremely positive changes such as more energy, better sleep, improved mental clarity and balance, and weight loss. Others have healed their body of conditions and diseases such as ME, asthma, obesity, allergies, arthritis, cancer and diabetes.
The beautiful thing about raw food is that you don't have to eat 100% raw food to feel the benefits. Just adding some more raw food to your life will be good news for your well being. Aim for at least 50% (in weight) of your daily meals to be raw to really feel the difference. So what foods can we eat? Isn't it rather limiting?
